I’ll be saying things on Zoom. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Join us to mark the opening of the exhibition Illuminate: Contextualizing Asian American Women’s Stories through the Archives. This program will feature Erika Lee, a leading expert on Asian American history and immigration; Eunsong Kim, a scholar of Asian American literature and race, ethnic, and digital studies; and the artist, educator, and activist Shaina Lu in conversation with the exhibition curator Victor Betts.
Illuminate spotlights the stories and lives of Asian American women whose collections are held in the Schlesinger Library at Harvard Radcliffe Institute. The exhibition provides viewers an opportunity to contextualize the often invisible and forgotten histories of Asian and Asian American women in the United States, examining how understandings of race, ethnicity, gender, citizenship, and migration impact the collective memory of a nation.
