#aapiequalpayday

A comic drawn for National APA Women’s Forum (NAPAWF).

“Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women must work, on average, two extra months for our salary to catch up with the annual pay of white men. In 2017, AAPI women earned only 85 cents for each dollar white men earned.

But there's more to the story.

The model minority myth assumes all AAPI are well off and hides disparities between ethnic groups within our community. For example, in 2017, Hmong and Cambodian women earned only 59 and 62 cents to the white male dollar, respectively. Their equal pay days are later in the year.”
